Many thanks to all who supported the Festive Pampering .  Apart from raising £1611 for Cancer Support Scotland, many patients and their families were helped with complementary therapies, advice and other general enquiries….  Those who received treatments, makeovers and hair loss advice were delighted …. one of our patients said 'I feel wonderful, what a day.' Staff also enjoyed makeovers and therapies - a wee boost for them too.

Grateful thanks too to all who handed in donations of gifts and foods.

Just to say thank you to all who supported the Macmillan Cancer Support World's Biggest Coffee Morning. Our patients, visitors and staff made great use of the therapies on offer and commented on how wonderful they felt after them.
In addition we raised £1520.00 for Macmillan.

Also just to let you know that over the 8 years we have been running these morale boosting pampering days we have raised an astonishing total of £24,816.43 for the various charities we support… so thank you all for your contribution towards this….

We had  a great day with Boots No7 team, the Calman Centre complementary therapist, Maggies/LA Hair Solutions, and Breast cancer care in attendance…. our patients and visitors were delighted and gained much support and advice.
We also raised £1368.00 for Breast Cancer Care.

Just to say a very big thank you to all who supported our Strawberry Tea event today… we went through 14 dozen strawberry tarts, 20 punnets of strawberries, countless cupcakes and lots of sweets . . . . everyone seemed to enjoy the day and our patients were able to access much advice and support.

£1150.00 was also raised for Breast Cancer Care.

Special thanks to Kate Houston who again made her wonderful home baking, sold it to staff and raised £185.00 of our total…. take a bow kate, you are a star.

The day was of great benefit - the complementary therapies were a great success, hair loss advice at short notice was provided by Breast Cancer Care and we had Sanctuary from Glasgow providing lingerie and swimwear advice for patients following mastectomy.

All in all the day was thoroughly enjoyed by those who took part. Cancer Support Scotland were given the proceeds of £819.00

World's Biggest Coffee Morning - Macmillan Cancer Support

Coffee n cupcakes, biscuits and tea; taster sessions for complementary therapies; wig and hair loss advice for our patients and the raffle.

The day was open to staff, visitors, patients and their families. Our wig and hair loss advisor from Maggies/MastHairpiece gave out lots of advice and provided scarf tying demonstrations to our patients. Our complementary therapists from Cancer Support Scotland Tak Tent never stopped the whole time, giving Reiki and Aromatherapy massages to patients, family and staff - thoroughly enjoyed by all who received one.

In whatever way you supported the event -  buying tickets for the raffle, having a cuppa n cupcake, providing cakes and biscuits, your presence at the day - we thank you for making a huge difference to the lives of those we all care for.

The monies raised £1,354.00 were handed over to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Just to say thank you to all who supported our Strawberry Tea Day - it was a great success, was very busy at times and 28 people received complementary therapies; Sharron from Maggies was kept busy the whole time with patients and visitors seeking advice on hair loss and wigs, our staff were on hand answering many queries … and we were kept extremely busy on the teas and raffle - we raised £1070.00 for Breast Cancer Care (we are amazed and are going to call it the Strawberry Effect!!!).

MacMillan Coffee Morning - Tom Wheldon Building - Friday 25 September 2009 - 9am to 1pm

 Taster sessions of complementary therapies, a Macmillan information stand, scarf tying from Maggies/MastHairPiece, Paisley and a raffle with top prize of a Tom Tom Sat Nav helped to raise £920 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Many, many thanks to all those who helped to achieve this fabulous amount!

Friday 3rd July 2009 from 10am - 3pm - Breast Cancer Care Strawberry Tea

Participants were very pleased with the various stands  - a lot of help was given to patients and visitors. The complementary therapies were much appreciated from Cancer Support Scotland Tak Tent, ladies were delighted at not only being able to buy the headscarves, but to have a demonstration on how to tie them and the Breast Cancer Care team were delighted with the response they had.

Thank you for making such a difference in the lives of those we care for.


To cap it all. . . £692.66 was raised for Breast Cancer Care.

MacMillan Coffee Morning - Friday 26 September 2008

Cancer Support Scotland Tak Tent, provided lovely and much appreciated taster sessions of complementary therapies and Maggies/ACCORD Hospice provided scarf tying demonstrations. Counselling, specialist nurse and information services were also available. As a bonus, a total of £690.50 for Macmillan Cancer Support was raised from a raffle and refreshments donated by staff and friends.
