Macmillan Supporters Service

Macmillan Supporters (MacSs) are people (patients and carers) who have been affected by cancer and experienced the anxieties and worries of receiving a cancer diagnosis, gone through cancer treatment, experienced its side effects and have made the decision to actively support others.

MacSs are equipped with the skills to give basic advice on nutritional care in cancer in addition to that which you receive from the healthcare professional.  They can chat through with you how to action the advice you have received and provide practical hints and tips to help you and your family support yourselves.  They lend a friendly listening ear and help signpost people to other relevant services.

If you:-

• Have a poor appetite, difficulties with eating and swallowing and lost weight?
• Would you like to speak to someone who has been through a similar cancer journey?

........then please feel free to contact the Macmillan Supporters Service for an informal confidential chat on:-  0141 340 9223 or Text 07557 737 852.

New from Macmillan Cancer Support, the Macmillan Supporters Service has now supported over a hundred cancer patients and carers and here are is just a taste of what they had to say about their contact with a MacS.
