Ward B1

 

 Ward B1 Speciality :  Head and Neck, Brain and Skin

The ward has 26 beds.  This is made up from the following:

  • 6 Single rooms
  • 2, 2 bedded rooms
  • 4, 4 bedded rooms

The ward is a mixed sex ward, although if you have to share a room you will share with someone of your own gender.
 
When you are coming into B1 you should enter the hospital from the Main entrance. Go through the main reception hall and go to the lift hall.  Take the lifts to the 2nd floor, when you come out of the lifts go through the double doors and go to your left.  You will find Ward B1 is the 1st ward on this floor on your right hand side.  There is an intercom at the entrance to the ward, if you press the button the receptionist or nursing staff will open the doors to let you into the ward.

The ward is a mixed sex ward. No children /under 18 years old are allowed to enter ward B3.

When you are coming into B3 you should enter the hospital from the Main entrance. Go through the main reception hall past the Courtyard Cafe, turn to your left and go to the lift hall.  Take the lifts to the 2nd floor, when you come out of the lifts go through the double doors and go to your left.  You will find ward B3 is the last ward on this floor and is facing you right at the end of the corridor as far as you can go.  There is an intercom at the entrance to the ward, if you press the button the receptionist or nursing staff will open the doors to let you into the ward.

Ward B6 (Short Stay Chemotherapy Monday-Friday)

From June 2013, the 11 day case beds/chairs in ward B6 are fully operational as an extension of the Macmillan Day Case Unit.  This area will house the longer treatments, as the level 1 MDCU now closes at 6pm.  Any queries, please contact Maureen Grant on ext 57642

Day Case has 3 side rooms and a 4 bedded chair room and 2 other chair area's beds.  The other half of B6 is now the Acute Oncology Assessment Unit (AOAU)

Ward B 8/9 Speciality:

When you are coming into Ward B8/9 you should enter the hospital from the Main entrance. Go through the main reception hall past the Courtyard Cafe, turn to your left and go to the lift hall.  Take the lift to the 4th floor. When you come out of the lifts go through the double doors and turn to your left.  You will find ward B8 is the 2nd ward on this floor and is on your right hand side.  There is an intercom at the entrance to the ward, if you press the button the receptionist or nursing staff will open the doors to let you into the ward. You will gain entrance to ward B9 by going through ward B7 which is the 1st ward on level 4 and also has an intercom system.
