Beatson QI Group
Driving Quality and Innovation with Compassion
In early 2020 a group of like minded healthcare workers with a passion for improving quality within our Oncology and Haematology service areas established a working group to look at how we achieve quality improvement within Cancer Services.
Quality Improvement is often described as “a systematic approach that uses specific techniques to improve quality” (Health Foundation, 2013) and within Greater Glasgow and Clyde we widely recognise and promote the Model for Improvement as a means of achieving continuous improvement.

2024 Greatix Winners !!!
Our dedicated staff here at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre have every reason to celebrate their achievements. It has been another positive year for Greatix!
Greatix is an excellence reporting system, which is now well established at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre and ensures that we facilitate a process of positive feedback about the people you work with. Greatix gives the opportunity to say “well done” to colleagues no matter how big or small the gesture and to thank them for their hard work or congratulate them on going ‘above and beyond’ in their role.
Positive feedback from receiving a Greatix will hopefully continue to create a stronger and more harmonious workplace. Appreciative feedback from a Greatix nomination gives the recipient or team recognition of their efforts and can build on their sense of value. It helps to reinforce a positive team building approach and encourages a self-awareness to help us all become mindful of the impact that our actions have. Many thanks to all the areas that participated.
Our winners this year with the most Greatix nominations were the Radiotherapy Unit. Many congratulations
The management team came a very close second and therefore as worthy runners up, were also awarded a hamper of tea, coffee & sweet treats. Many congratulations to both teams.
