BWoSCC celebrate International Nurses Day 2026
June 03, 2026 1:30 PM
The PDERU team organised an event to celebrate International Nurses Day where nurses could drop in to grab tea/coffee and cake, have a chat and get a neck, shoulder or hand massage from two of the amazing therapists from the Beatson Cancer Charity. We had resources from Civility Saves Lives and thank you to Mhairi McCulloch from Equality and Human Rights who came along to speak to staff and give out useful resources.
Thank you to McGhees, Tunnocks and Liggy's Cakes who provided sweet treats for nurses to enjoy on the day.
In the lead up to the event, nurses were asked to write a reflective piece on how they have empowered others, with the top 3 prizes being an overnight stay at Dalziel Park Hotel (donated by Starfish Ltd), a 3 course meal at Bo'Vine Restaurant, and nail voucher for Belle Mere Salon. Congratulations to our winners!
Nurses who came along to the event on the day entered into a raffle to win a range of prizes, including Celtic Park/Ibrox hospitality tickets, donated by Stevie from One Stop Access, a candle from Skye Candles, a signed Celtic top and other Celtic clothing, and various bottles/chocolates/skin care, all generously donated by two members of the public who wish to remain anonymous. We are so grateful to everyone who donated and helped celebrate the amazing work our nurses do!
