Patients and visitors
The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre (BWoSCC) provides all radiotherapy services and much of the chemotherapy, for patients with cancer in the west of Scotland. We offer our service and care to 60% of Scotland’s population – 2.5 million people.
The Beatson is a leader in many areas of cancer research and treatment. Attracting leading cancer professionals from around the world and with the latest cutting-edge equipment, we can provide the very best care available for our patients.
As Scotland's largest cancer centre, we see more than 8,500 new patients every year and over 60,000 return patients.

Our Facilities
There are several facilities available for patients and visitors attending the hospital.
The Welcome Desk is located in the Main Foyer on Level 1. The staff can assist patients and visitors with general and wayfinding information.
The desk is normally open Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, but is currently open until 4pm.

The nearest ATM Cash Machine is located within the main entrance of Gartnavel General Hospital, next to the Beatson.
Aroma Café
Open Monday to Friday, 8am - 2pm (Gartnavel)
Located within Gartnavel General on the upper ground floor. The Café provides daily fresh sandwiches, rolls, paninis, snacks, fresh fruit, soup, teas and freshly ground coffee.
Open Monday to Friday, 8am - 4pm (Beatson)
Located within the main entrance to the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre. The Café provides daily fresh sandwiches, rolls, paninis, snacks, fresh fruit, soup, teas and freshly ground coffee.
Beatson Cafè
Open Monday to Friday, 9am - 4pm
Located within the Tom Wheldon building, the Beatson Cafè provides a relaxed and comforting area for patients, families, friends and staff to unwind with high quality refreshments. The Cafè serves a wide range of hot and cold drinks, soups, baked potatoes, rolls, paninis and sandwiches snacks and cakes. It also has a range of ice cream and frozen yoghurt.
WRVS Snack Bar
Open Monday to Friday, 8am - 3pm
Located near the front entrance on the ground floor of Gartnavel General Hospital. The Café provides daily newspapers, sandwiches, rolls, paninis, snacks, fresh fruit, soup, teas and freshly ground coffee.
Café Deco
Open Monday to Friday, 8am - 430pm
Open Saturday, 10am - 4pm
Located near the front entrance on the ground floor of Gartnavel General Hospital. The Café provides daily sandwiches, rolls, paninis, snacks, fresh fruit, soup, teas and freshly ground coffee.
NOTE: All the above areas are accessible to wheelchairs. Help can be provided by staff if required.
Open: Monday to Friday, 8.45am - 5.00pm
Location: Level 1
Patient services include:
- Dispensing patient prescriptions
- Dispensing oral chemotherapy
- Offering advice regarding medication, eg, how to take and store them, common side effects to look out for.
Free wifi is available throughout the Beatson.

Parking
Car Parking is restricted within the Gartnavel Campus, however, there are ‘drop off’ points outside all entrances and designated visitor parking areas.
Please avoid parking on disabled spaces, unless you hold a valid badge, and yellow lines. Please do not park in ambulance car parks or areas marked for ambulance use.
We appreciate that at busy times it can be difficult to get parking spaces, however, please try not to worry about this and help is available.

Public Transport

Located on Level 1 of the hospital in the main foyer area, the Sanctuary offers a place to pray, reflect, meditate, think and relax. It is available to all patients, families, carers, staff and volunteers. Further information on the full range of services provided can be found here.
