Thank You! Beatson World Delirium Awareness Day Bake-Off Winners
March 12, 2026 11:07 AM
Dear colleagues,
A huge thank you to everyone who supported and took part in the Beatson World Delirium Awareness Day Bake-Off. It was a lovely turnout and a fantastic way to bring staff together while raising awareness of delirium in older people receiving cancer care. The Beatson is clearly full of some absolutely brilliant bakers!
The event was hosted by the Cancer Older People’s Service (COPS) and we were delighted to see such great engagement from teams across the building. For colleagues who were unable to step away from busy clinical areas, we also took some of the leftover bake-off entries around the wards alongside delirium awareness activities and resources for you to use.
A big congratulations to our winning bakers, who were awarded the prestigious COPS “Wooden Spoon” trophies:
with her “Back to Basics” themed Chocolate Mud Cake, achieving the highest score of the day.

Events like this are a great reminder of the creativity, enthusiasm and teamwork across the Beatson. Thank you again to everyone who baked, judged, attended, and supported the event.
