Dr Sophie Barrett

Dr Sophie Barrett is a Consultant Medical Oncologist with a special interest in treating patients with breast cancer. In addition, Dr Barrett is the Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy Lead for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

Dr Barrett trained in Cambridge and London before moving to Glasgow in 1997 to complete her Medical Oncology training. In 2005, she was awarded an MD by the University of Glasgow, for work analysing markers of chemotherapy resistance in breast cancer.

Her clinical practice covers the North-East Glasgow area and she runs a Wednesday clinic at Stobhill Hospital and a Thursday clinic at the Beatson. She shares her practice with the Consultant Clinical Oncologists Drs Stefan Nowicki and Cicely Cunningham and the Specialist Nurses Vicky Evans, Ruanne Devine and Fiona Shaw.
